Track & Field - Throwing Events

8 Years

2 - Jr. High

6 - Varsity

Phil got his start in throwing events at Bellevue Jr. High.  He continued his throwing career at Bellevue Sr. High School and was a 3 year Letter Winner.  With a Personal Best of 150'+ in the Discus and 49'+ in the Shot Put he was hooked.

Phil was a walk-on for the University of Cincinnati Track Indoor Team (Club at the time), adding experience in the Hammer and Weight Throw events, for a season before focusing his efforts on academic studies.

He continued his passion for the Throwing Events by coaching at a local Jr. High while finishing his college studies. Then, continued his coaching at the High School Varsity level for 6 seasons. He helped his athletes perform at a level that gained them access to the Ohio High School Regional Competition.

Phil continues to work with athletes one on one as opportunities become available.  His passion for seeing personal improvement in his athletes, attention to detail, and love of the sport continue to spur passion for involvement in the Throws.

Baseball  - Youth

2 Years (Youth)

Phil played Rec. League Baseball from the age of 7 to 16.  Predominantly a catcher he helped his team to be League Champions 3 years in a row and League Tournament Champions those same 3 years.  Baseball, being in the same season as Track and Field took a back seat in later high school years.

Phil has Head Coached for two different Youth Seasons. Focusing on basic skills and having fun!

Football - Youth

2 Seasons

1 - Flag Football

1 - 3/4 Grade

Phil played one season of youth football during his childhood.  He didn't have the drive to participate in the sport, other then in the backyard or pick up games with other band members in High School.

His youngest son however loves the sport so Phil has gotten involved.  Head coaching a youth Flag Football team for a season.  In which the team developed nicely and competed very well.

The following season Phil helped coach his son on a 3rd/4th grade team.  Focusing on learning the sport he learned a lot and had a great time working with the players!

Lacrosse - Youth

2 Seasons

2 - 3/4th Grade

Phil was never exposed to Lacrosse until his Sons wanted to play.  With his coaching experience and love of sport he volunteered to help coach Lacrosse. He learned a lot about the sport and has created many family fiendships.

Wrestling - Youth

2 Seasons

Phil wrestled for one season in 7th grade and figured out it didn't fit his temperament at the time.

His boys decided to participate for two seasons on a local youth team and Phil was able to assist at practices and at meets.
